Two people were taking a long walk to Jerusalem for Passover. Jesus appeared and was not recognized. They were scared that Jesus had been crucified. They couldn’t see him in their grief. They had wanted freedom from the terrifying reality of their lives in the Roman times. Jesus tells them they are foolish.
He didn’t come to Earth to be an Earthly King.
They told him to stay with us – as it was unsafe in the dark of the night. When they got to the house, Jesus broke bread. They finally recognized HIM. Did they feel guilty for abandoning Him? Then they ran back to Jerusalem (in the dark of night).
There is so much pain in our world.
How does God’s light Shine in our world?
What do we expect?
Jesus is not going to save us.
We need to learn through suffering.
We need to Care. And we need show it.
